ANZAC Day

We celebrate ANZAC day because we lost. Not like all our other wars that we won. We remember those who gave there lives for our country, not only those but the men that survived. We remember them.

3rd Brigade

The 3rd brigade also went of course. The laded 1 mile north of Gaba Tebe, but did not hesitate to scramble up the rocky terrain and attack.

The next few days were slaughter. The Australians were shot down like ants in echidna territory. They did not expect the Turkish to be waiting upon the cliff and hundreds were killed. They kept on fighting, despite those losses. They were fighting for years, until the diggers finally called retreat.

Gaba Tebe

The other fleet turned out to be much worse than they had hoped. The had landed 21kilometres north of Cape Helles and hit the rocky terrain. It was vertical cliffs straight to the top, where the Turkish lay waiting. They were led astray by an English captain. The cove they landed in would later be named ANZAC cove.

1915

The battle is nearing for the brave Australian troops. There is hectic activity to prepare for the doomsday battle that is bound to happen. No body knew whetther the Turkish had intelligence of their arrival and they weren't taking chances. They knew that another fleet was to come to back them up. They must make sure that nothing went wrong.

Cape Helles

The Australians land at Cape Helles, a place of the coast of Turkey. the Australians hoped that this would be the place that finished the war.

Unknown Enemies

It was very easy to understand the Turkish panic for there were unknown amounts of soldiers on the Australian side. There were rumours but no one could be sure.
